Schmetz Quilting & Mircrotex Needle Bundle

The Schmetz Quilting & Mircrotex Needle Bundle is perfect for the quilting and sewing enthusiast who would like to sample different types and sizes of needles. These needles work with most home sewing machine brands that use a 15x1 needle system. Each pack of needles will come in a plastic case that slides shut for safe storage. The needle system, needle type, and needle size are printed on the front of the case. The bundle includes a five-pack of universal needles (75/11 & 90/14), a five-pack of sharp needles (80/12), a Schmetz Luggage Tag, and a Schmetz ABC Pocket Guide. Most Schmetz Needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color indicates the type of needle, and the lower color indicates the size. Microtex/sharp needles have a purple upper band, and quilting needles have a green band.

Quilting Needles
Schmetz 130/705 H-Q Quilting Needles feature a slim acute point and tapered tip, making this needle excellent for piercing tightly woven quilting material without causing damage. These needles are made specifically for piecing and machine quilting. The thin tapered form of these needles allows them to move through many layers smoothly to help eliminate skipped stitches while keeping stitches even.

Microtex/Sharp Needles
Schmetz 130/705 H-M Microtex/Sharp Needles feature a sharp point that makes this needle excellent for piercing delicate or densely woven fabrics like microfiber and synthetic leather. It was designed for modern microfibers/polyesters and high thread count/ high-quality fabrics that are commonly used today. The point is quite sharp – hence the name – but because of this, it is a little more fragile and needs to be changed more regularly.
